A Quiet Christmas?

Hello

Advent has started with a bang in the Woodlands Church Family. On the first day of Advent last Sunday, three young people were baptised at Woodlands Metro, and four young men were baptised at Woodlands Central. You can hear their stories on our websites.

People are moved to and drawn by stories. At the Metro service there were almost three times the number of people present than on average. Woodlands Central was 'standing room only' at 6.30, with a significant overflow in the foyer.

This Christmas time, expect people to be drawn to the story of Jesus. Please feel invited to all our special events, and invite others. We hope that you and your friends will feel the Christmas story, not just the Christmas atmosphere, has a power and relevance that can be transformative. We are all invited to worship Jesus, and the most unexpected visitors (Shepherds and Magi for example) find they are truly welcomed by Him.

The stable birth reminds us that in the secret and intimate places Jesus can be found and worshipped as well as in the vibrant and louder celebrations. This Sunday evening, alongside our 'Big Sing' the Quiet Service in the Crypt will offer a reflective worship experience with communion.

Wherever we gather to worship, this season is one to look for with longing and hope the Jesus who has come into the world, and even now meets us by His Spirit before that great and terrible day of His return.

Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus.

Much love to you all,

David Mitchell
