A year to grow in ministry.
Woodlands Ministry Apprentice is a one-year commitment where we invest in your ministry formation to help you become a more effective co-labourer with Jesus.
Starts in September 2026 and finishes in August 2027*
What Will the Year Include?
Local Ministry Placement
You’ll choose a ministry area to serve in such as children, youth, worship, tech, social action, comms etc or for general church leadership, a geographical congregation (Southmead, Sea Mills, City Centre, Henbury, Easton or South Bristol). You will have a ministry lead who you will shadow and who will line manage you.
Practical Training
You’ll receive practical theology, discipleship and ministry training provided by the Woodlands Church Family senior leaders. You will be part of a team which will meet regularly on Mondays and will have times of reflection and retreat together.
Successful applicants can opt for theological training on the Scripture, Theology and Culture Course at Mullers Theology and Culture Course — Müllers or join in with the Post Graduate Certificate in theology with WTC Bristol Hub - WTC Theology - Locations across the UK . There will also be the opportunity to join a Leadership Learning Community run by Tim Dobson.
Finances
The Ministry Apprentice scheme requires two days. One will be remunerated at the National living wage and will have a job description linked with it. The other day will be committed to your personal development and could include formal training alongside giving ministry a go, followed by reflection with your Ministry Lead.
